1) Why Lucky 14 Pedalboards?
While we appreciate and respect the function and need for mass produced pedalboards/cases, we share the same respect for individuality. We believe in top notch hand-built craftsmanship, customer service and one-on-one interaction with all of our players on what we feel is the most varying and individual part of your sound.
2) What makes a Lucky 14 Pedalboard different from any other custom pedalboard?
Most companies/builders offer either a very nice pedalboard or a very nice carrying case, but usually not both. If they do, there is usually a stronger emphasis on one of the components leaving the other a bit underwhelming in comparison. We want your case and board to be of compatible quality and appeal.
3) What sizes/options does Lucky 14 offer?
While we do have a standard 15” x 20” board designed to fit in overhead compartments as well as a 15” x 27”, we will build to suit in most cases. Fixed or removable pedalboard surfaces are available for both sizes. Both designs work well for layout, carrying, playing and storing. At most desired lengths, we’ve not needed to build a second tier for any users.
4) What custom finishes/colors do you use?
We have access to most common colors and some not so common ones too. Prices will vary depending on what you wish, but the basics (black, blue, red, green, purple, and cream tolex) are always more affordable. We also offer the increasingly popular “Trucker Finish” which has been road-tested in too many ways and never failed. For heavy touring, this is a great alternative to the standard ATA-type case, but with more personality. All cases and surfaces are constructed from ½” 3-ply birch.
5) What options do you offer?
While we encourage any and all ideas to ensure satisfaction, we also want to factor in the overall practicality and will make recommendations based on such. We do not currently hard-wire pedalboards but will recommend power options supplied by specific vendors (additional cost to the pedalboard). We have currently been steering customers toward several power sources (One-Spot, VooDoo Lab Pedal Power, Dunlop DC Power Brick) with excellent results. We will soon be announcing a relationship with a very reputable company that will exclusively supply Lucky 14 with self-contained power options.
6) How long will it take to get my Lucky 14 Pedalboard?
Currently, after contact, we will send out a statement of work, and after the agreed deposit ( 50%) , you should be playing your board within 4 – 6 weeks . Anything out of the ordinary could take longer and will be agreed upon in the statement of work.
7) What if I’m not happy with my purchase?
I will give a full refund within 7 business days of purchase (shipping not included).
8) How do you ship?
We usually ship FedEx Ground FREE to the Continental U.S. (lower 48 States). Outside of Continental U.S. is $25.
